“LOXWOOD
THE BAPTIST CHAPEL.- In connection with the new Baptist Chapel now being built by S. Barrow Esq. a very successful tent meeting was held last week. The purpose being to inaugurate the starting of a Sunday School, a pithy and practical address was given to the parents and children by Rev. G. Dunnett of Coseley, Staffordshire. A few words were likewise addressed to the adults present by the Rev. B. Marshall of Horley. Mrs Barrow, by the experience gained in other fields of labour, coupled with her indomitable energy, has been enabled to gather round her at Loxwood House, a band of willing workers. God blessing her, the friends are looking for great things and will not be disappointed. It is proposed to open the new chapel the last week in August.”

Note: The Baptist Chapel is in the village of Alfold, Loxwood House was one of the large manor houses of the Loxwood. Mr & Mrs Barrow lived at Burningfold Hall, Dunsfold and arranged and paid for the chapel at Alfold.
