1877 – Christmas presentation for services at the harmonium

“Miss Elizabeth Botting of Loxwood, has been presented, by the vicar and congregation of the parish church, with a handsome gold watch and jet chain, as a token of their regard to her family, and appreciation of her gratuitous services at the harmonium during the past five years. The watch bears the inscription : – “Miss Elizabeth Botting, presented by the congregation of Loxwood Church Christmas, 1876, J T Trigge Vicar.”

Note: Elizabeth Botting was the daughter of the first Churchwarden, Henry Botting, who farmed Headsfoldwood Farm for all of his working life.
